Payroll Analyst

Payroll Analyst

Purpose of role: The Payroll Analyst supports HR transactional functions with a concentration in the payroll function and service.

Main Tasks and Responsibities:

  • Responsible for populating, compiling, reviewing and auditing HR, benefits and payroll-related data
  • Processing of accurate and timely payrolls including review and audit of files and reports
  • Responsible for the process to withhold, remit and report HR-related third party payments including garnishments, payroll tax, 401k contributions and H&W benefit billing
  • Audit and interpret data from imports into online database against source documents
  • Process manual payroll adjustments after verification and approval process has taken place
  • Generate HR-based reports as needed
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees, management and outside agencies, serving as a resource for payroll issues
  • Responsible for data and files relating to HR transactions including mergers, acquisitions and legal integration
  • Responsible for payroll-related reporting including regulatory review, year-end processing and annual company-related audit
  • Collaborate regularly with HR, Finance and other input points to ensure orderly flow of data to preserve data integrity
  • Responsible for reconciliation, reporting and payment oversight of payroll taxes processed by third party vendor
  • Document new processes and keep existing documentation current
  • Act in compliance with applicable state and Federal wage and hour laws
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Operate in compliance with all local, state and Federal laws as well as Company policy and compliance standards.


Education and Skillset:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Accounting or related field
  • CPP or FPC certification preferred
  • 3-5 years’ payroll experience in high-volume multiunit environment
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll and HRIS systems (ADP is preferred); solid understanding of various government statutory requirements on employment standards, compensation, benefits, payroll, etc. across multiple states
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills; demonstrates flexible and efficient time management with the ability to prioritize workload
  • Works collaboratively to build, develop and implement process improvements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
