Senior Fundraising and Relationship Manager Hear the World Foundation

Founded in 2006 by Sonova Group, the Hear the World Foundation supports projects around the world enabling children with hearing loss to develop appropriate to their age. The foundation focuses on projects in low- to middle-income countries which give children with hearing loss access to audiological care. To this end, the non-profit Swiss based foundation provides funding, hearing technology as well as on-site expertise to train local professionals.


In the role as Senior Fundraising and Relationship Manager, you build and implement the fundraising strategy of the Hear the World Foundation. The role will lead fundraising efforts for major donors and mid-level donors to maximize external financial support for the foundation. The ultimate goal is to attract, inspire and manage donors to support our cause in order to scale the foundation’s donation budget, ambitions and programming impact. Additionally, the role will identify and manage funding collaborations with other organizations

Your tasks


Fundraising strategy and implementation

  • Lead conceptualization and implementation of the fundraising strategy of the foundation to achieve continuous and sustainable funding
  • Define digital donor journeys (with offline touchpoints) based on CRM system and with defined communication needs
  • Responsible for annual fundraising planning process with income targets based on donor funnel
  • Sparring partner to Director in strategic alignment with the HTW strategy and priority setting

Relationship management and network building

  • Identify, research and acquire new major and mid-level donors
  • Build a stable demand generation process to identify future prospects
  • Develop and implement activation, reactivation and retention programs for donors (on- and offline)
  • Development, management and lead of CRM system
  • Alignment with Sonova Wholesale, Retail and Communication on identifying and rolling out engagement programs for customers and consumers

Fundraising campaigns

  • Planning, implementation and monitoring of fundraising campaigns among donors, consumers and employees (on- and offline)
  • Result-oriented development and improvement of existing fundraising activities
  • Development and expansion of online fundraising activities, including communication activities, across all digital assets
  • Analysis, evaluation and preparation of donation statistics and lead on fundraising financial reports
  • Tracking and evaluation of effectiveness of events and campaigns
  • Funding collaborations
  • Identify and develop funding collaborations with other organizations 
  • Manage collaboration setup and responsible for successful partnerships



Your profile


  • Degree in Business Management / Development, Marketing, Communication or in a related field
  • Further education in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and/or work experience in fundraising and customer relationship management
  • At least 7 years of work experience in a similar role preferably in a large international NGO
  • Experience working in a foundation and prior engagement in international development is desirable
  • Excellent fundraising skills and Salesforce (or other CRM system) experience is a must
  • Excellent organization and project management skills
  • You are a strong Networker within and outside the company and you are able to build strong relationships
  • Proficient in English and German both written and spoken 
  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen sensitivity and understanding paired with a can do mind-set, a high-level of self-management and proactivity
  • Ability to engage with and manage senior executives and high-net worth individuals (HNI)
