Business Development Manager - Soundfield

We are seeking a Soundfield Account Manager who will be responsible for developing new Roger Soundfield (classroom amplification system from Phonak) business in K-12 school districts.  The Soundfield Account Manager will cultivate new business with technology consultants, system integrators of school sound systems, IT decision makers to grow Soundfield presence in the school mainstream classrooms. This position will also partner with the Pediatric Account Managers to on-board, train and install technology for new accounts.   This position is national and will require working from a home office, in person customer visits and meetings at Phonak’s HQ facility in Aurora, IL.

 

Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Develop and execute growth business plan with support from Director of Pediatric Sales
  • Identify and prospect for new Soundfield business in school market
  • Make required number of sales calls per week to potential customers
  • Establish and develop rapport with technology consultants, system integrators of school sound systems and IT decision makers
  • Promote and demonstrate Roger Soundfield products
  • Represent Phonak at national and regional meetings as required
  • Understand the needs of potential customers, support them through the buying journey and offer solutions
  • Collaborate with Pediatric Account Managers to train and on-board new customers
  • Collaborate with marketing team on targeted campaigns, needed asset development, suggested product enhancements, and general market feedback and analysis
  • Plan to achieve or exceed sales quota
  • Comply with internal policies and procedures including documenting customer visits in CRM system on a daily basis
  • Maintain weekly expense reporting and manage territory within expense guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned by management
  • Willingness to travel frequently overnight (up to 75%)

 

Education and Skillset:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA desirable
  • Past experience in sound field systems delivery and key insights into potential clients/customers
  • Self-motivated and competitive
  • Focus on building strong customer relationships
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Comfortable with long sales cycle
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Team player with leadership abilities

  • Strong understanding of technology
  • Experience with CRM systems
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong understanding of technology consultative space; knowledge of business and key accounts
