Sonova is seeking an Industrial Engineer at our Aurora Distribution Center in Aurora, IL. In this role you will make an impact on business while improving lives of all ages and hearing devices. The Industrial Engineer investigates, reviews and improves the utilization of operation personnel, facility and equipment through process change, technology, and established best practices.

Main task and responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, identify and deploy process, layout and technology improvements to maximize workflow and or process efficiency
  • Independently determines and develops approach to solutions
  • Conduct studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production systems.
  • Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste (IE: Time, materials, movement and in-line rejects)
  • Develop and implement plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.
  • Write work instructions, process maps etc.
  • Complete understanding in wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the Industrial Engineering field.
  • Actively collaborate across all operations, departments within Sonova US and very close ties to corporate SE&ME Groups.

 

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Industrial Engineering
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, demand flow technology, six sigma and 5S
  • Experience with conveyance a plus
  • Experience with simulation software
  • Experience with AutoCAD or Solid works
  • Strong computer experience, working knowledge of Microsoft products including Office, Visio and Project; SAP Experience (or other ERP system) a plus
