Procurement Manager Indirect Spend

Purpose of role: This role is integral to the management of all aspects of indirect spend across North America. The ideal candidate will be responsible for devising and implementing effective procurement strategies, managing supplier relations, and ensuring cost-effective purchases that align with company goals and standards. The role will co-manage a spend of 100MUSD across all Sonva business units and companies in the Americas.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

Strategic Procurement Planning:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies across various indirect spend categories
  • Analyze market trends and adapt procurement strategies accordingly

Supplier Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers
  • Negotiate contracts and terms to achieve favorable conditions

Cost Management:

  • Continuously seek cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality
  • Monitor and report on cost-related performance metrics

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with various departments to understand their procurement needs
  • Ensure alignment of procurement activities with overall business objectives

Policy and Compliance:

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and legal standards
  • Stay updated with relevant regulations and market changes

Project Management:

  • Lead and manage procurement projects from conception to completion
  • Address any challenges that arise during the procurement process

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Present procurement strategies and results to senior management

Travel up to 20%

 

 

Education and Skillset:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in a generalist role
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Experience working with international companies highly preferred
  • P2P, SAP, Microsoft office experience with Ariba highly preferred

A minimum of 200Mb/sec download and 10Mb/sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote/hybrid employee functionality at Sonova
