Legal Counsel IP Trademarks and Copyrights

At Sonova, we are looking for a Legal Counsel – IP (Trademarks & Copyright) to join our growing legal team. This newly created role is a fantastic opportunity to shape and support Sonova’s global IP strategy, ensuring our brand, content, and creative assets are protected worldwide.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Advise internal stakeholders on trademark and copyright issues globally, including brand clearance and usage.
  •  Manage and oversee global trademark portfolios, including filing, prosecution, renewals, and oppositions.
  • Identify and address infringement and counterfeit issues; coordinate enforcement actions with external counsel.
  • Draft and negotiate IP-related agreements (e.g., licensing, co-branding, and content use agreements).
  • Support marketing and product teams in developing legally sound brand and communication strategies.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments in IP law and assess business impact.
  • Collaborate with external IP law firms to ensure high-quality, cost-effective legal support.
  • Help build IP awareness across the company through internal training and policy development.

 

 

Your Profile

 

  • Master’s degree in Law with a specialization in Intellectual Property.
  • Qualified attorney in at least one key jurisdiction (EU country, Switzerland, UK, or Ireland).
  • 4–5 years of proven experience in IP law, preferably both in private practice and in-house.
  • Solid experience handling international trademark portfolios and enforcement.
  • Familiarity with copyright law and commercial use of creative assets across channels.
  • Strong commercial sense and ability to deliver practical, business-oriented legal advice.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; fluent in English (any other language is a plus).
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
