Senior Financial Accountant

Senior Financial Accountant

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement initiatives. This role ensures adherence to IFRS and local accounting standards while providing critical financial insights to support decision-making. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in month-end close, audits, and cash flow management, and will also mentor junior team members to build a high-performing finance team.

 

More about the role:

  1. Financial Reporting & Compliance
  • Responsible for month end and year end closing, including overseeing the daily accounting operations, provision & accrual journal posting, standard journals reviews, IC reconciliation, account reconciliations and etc
  • Ensure monthly accurate financial reporting in SAP and Cognos
  • Responsible for intercompany invoice processing to CHB and AB
  • Perform monthly BS reconciliation review
  • Timely complete the monthly ICS controls
  • Fixed Assets management
  • Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with corporate governance frameworks.
  • Continuous improvement of SOPs.
  • Successfully identify business risk and implement effectively mitigation strategies.
  1. Tax & Treasury
  • Responsible for preparation and lodgement of monthly BAS and payroll tax
  • Responsible for FBT return
  • Support on deferred tax calculation in Half year and Year end reporting
  • Coordinate annual income tax return with external tax consultant
  • Responsible for the monthly cash flow forecasting process and analyse collection performance through weekly ageing reports and cash collection reports.
  1. Working Capital Management
  • Collaborate with Operation team to strengthen inventory controls
  • Contribute to the process improvement initiatives for working capital efficiency.
  1. Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Assist in the monthly rolling forecast process
  • Assist with preparing the annual Opex and Capex budgets
  1. Statutory Audit & Internal Audit
  • Primary responsible for annual statutory accounts auditing
  • Responsible for internal audit and timely completion of internal audit actions.
  1. Team management & development
  • Responsible for mentoring 1-2 team members
  • Foster a collaborative and growth-oriented team culture.
  1. Others:
  • Manage annual insurance policies renewal
  • Other adhoc tasks as required

 

 

More about you

 

  • Qualification in accounting or finance or commerce; CA/CPA qualified
  • At least 4-6 years of practical accounting experience and 1-2 years’ experience of team management
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS and practical application of Australian Accounting Standards, with a strong ability to interpret and implement complex accounting requirements.
  • Solid practical experience with Australian tax compliance, including BAS, FBT, and income tax returns.
  • Strong SAP experience and Advanced Excel skills
  • Demonstrated experience in standard operating procedure (SOP) improvements and strengthening of internal controls.
  • Exceptional communication and people management skills, with a collaborative and solution-oriented mindset.
