Who we are

At Audatic, we build systems to render speech from any sound scenario clear and free of noise using state-of-the-art deep learning technology. Our mission is to empower millions of people with hearing loss to enjoy interactions in demanding social settings like bars or restaurants.

As a part of the Sonova Group, our team developed the speech enhancement neural network for the Phonak Infinio Sphere - the world’s first hearing aid to run a deep neural network (DNN) for real-time speech enhancement on a custom-built, low-power, embedded neural accelerator. Since then, numerous clinical studies and extensive market feedback have confirmed the significant, life-changing benefits of this breakthrough technology.

As a small, supportive team within a global leader, we pair startup agility with Sonova’s scale, audiological expertise, and world-class resources. Everyone here has the chance to shape how we work, contribute their ideas and have a direct impact on the products we deliver - creating technology that can transform lives.

You will be part of Audatic's development team. As such, you'll be encouraged to take ownership and responsibility for part of our DNN training infrastructure. Below is a list of the dev team's responsibilities. Together, we'll choose a few for you to focus on and these can evolve over time.

  • Working very closely with our deep learning engineers and data scientists to design, maintain, and extend our system for training neural networks. This includes packages, tools and services written in Python, databases, virtual machines, cloud compute resources and scheduling systems.
  • Collaborating with embedded software engineers on graph-manipulation tools to analyze and optimize our trained neural networks.
  • Proactively identifying improvements to make our infrastructure more robust, efficient and user-friendly. Part of this is working on the neural network training process to make it fast and hardware accurate.
  • Developing tools to provide better insights and control over machine learning & deep learning experiments. This includes our custom-built experiment control and visualization website.
  • Leveraging our CI/CD system or other forms of automation to minimize repetitive tasks for the team.

You will be taking full ownership over parts of our codebase and infrastructure. At Audatic, you are encouraged to innovate and propose new ideas for continuous improvements.
