About the Role:
Join us on a 12 month FTC as a Financial Accountant at Boots Hearingcare and be part of a team dedicated to ensuring financial excellence and compliance. In this role, you'll play a pivotal role in preparing, analysing, and submitting month-end accounts and tax filings for both the UK and Republic of Ireland, ensuring adherence to compliance standards and fostering strong governance and controls. Key responsibilities will include supporting with budgets and reforecasts, requiring impeccable organisational skills and efficient time and resource management to meet tight deadlines. As a Financial Accountant, you will:
- Prepare and submit management accounts and information packs on time with detailed working papers.
- Manage inputs for month-end processes promptly.
- Handle corporation tax and VAT return preparation and reconciliation.
- Assist with statutory audits, year-end accounts, and government submissions.
- Support annual budgeting and monthly reforecasting.
- Review incentive scheme payouts and reconciliations.
- Proactively manage financial controls and identify improvement areas.
- Review and develop policies, systems, and processes for efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and support internal audits.
- Responsible for reporting key balance sheet items accurately.
- Assist in projects and provide financial insights as needed.
- Maintain contingency cover and up-to-date documentation.
- Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide constructive challenge to support financial performance.
- Foster strong partnerships across the organization.
Person Specification:
- Qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (part-qualified candidates considered)
- Strong financial background with experience in financial accounts and tax
- Excellent coordination and time management skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- At least 3 years of relevant accounting experience in a finance department or team
- Previous experience with management accounts, comfortable with reporting at a senior level, and taking responsibility.
- IT literate with exceptional attention to detail
- Strategic and creative thinker with excellent analytical skills
Desirable:
- Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships throughout an organisation, adept at challenging, facilitating discussions, and addressing barriers.
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload, keeping all stakeholders informed on expected timeframes.
- Positive and proactive approach to work
