This is an opportunity to join Boots Hearingcare as a Financial Accountant, supporting the financial health, compliance, and strategic planning of both our UK and Republic of Ireland operations. You’ll play a key role in ensuring robust financial controls, delivering insightful reporting, and driving continuous improvement across the finance function, backed by the stability, investment and innovation of Boots Hearingcare and Sonova.

You’ll join a collaborative Finance team with exposure to senior stakeholders and cross-functional projects, working in a business focused on growth, transformation and continuous improvement.

The role

As a Financial Accountant, you’ll:

  • Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts and supporting reporting packs
  • Support month-end close activities and ensure reporting deadlines are achieved
  • Manage corporation tax, VAT returns and reconciliations
  • Support statutory audits, year-end processes and regulatory submissions
  • Assist with annual budgeting cycles and monthly reforecasting activity
  • Review incentive schemes and associated reconciliations
  • Maintain strong financial controls and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and improve financial processes, systems and governance
  • Provide financial insight to support business decisions and performance
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation
  • Support projects and drive efficiencies across the finance function

You’ll be trusted to challenge constructively, improve processes and help shape financial best practice.

What we’re looking for

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (part-qualified candidates considered)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience within a finance or accounting environment
  • Strong financial accounting and tax experience
  • Experience producing management accounts and senior-level reporting
  • Advanced Excel capability
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Strong analytical ability with high attention to detail
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and challenge constructively
  • Positive, proactive and improvement-focused mindset
