Embedded Software Engineer, Sennheiser (m/f/d)

We’re looking for an Embedded Software Engineer  to join our agile Software team in Hannover. You’ll work on the embedded Bluetooth software platform that powers our latest Sennheiser headphones and soundbars— ensuring robust software architecture and acting as a key interface between platform development and project teams.

You will join early in the product development cycle, helping shape software architecture from concept until the product is ready for launch.

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Design and implement embedded application software for wireless headphones and soundbars
  • Integrate embedded software into full product solutions, collaborating with DSP, electronics, mobile apps, and system test teams
  • Analyze requirements and translate them into well‑structured technical solutions, act as an interface to project teams, helping coordinate and align development activities across the platform
  • Troubleshoot and improve stability, performance, and reliability of the embedded platform.
  • Work on innovation topics shaping our future products, participate throughout the entire development cycle—from first idea to final market-ready product
  • Support feasibility studies, technical reviews, and early pre‑development projects
  • Contribute to improving software development methods, tools, and processes

 

Your profile

 

  • Strong C programming skills and experience with real-time embedded development, comfortable working with real-time operating systems
  • Several years of experience in embedded SW development, design, or testing
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and understand hardware interactions
  • Strong communicator and team player—able to collaborate, ask questions, give and receive feedback
  • Knowledge of Bluetooth or IEEE 802.x protocols is a plus
  • English required, German is a plus
  • Experience with Python for developing and maintaining test and developer tools
