Procurement Specialist (6 Month Contract)

Sonova is seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to support our Logistics & Demand Planning team. In this role, you will be responsible for procurement and expediting functions, ensuring the timely, cost-effective supply of goods and services across our supply chain. You’ll work closely with suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing teams to secure the right materials and services, maintain compliance, and optimize purchasing operations.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate procurement of commodities, goods, and services from approved and potential suppliers.

Recommend suppliers, products, and services based on requirements and group policies.

Approve purchase orders and authorize expenditures within defined limits.

Execute online purchasing through e-procurement/e-sourcing applications.

Coordinate license renewals and issue to related parties on schedule.

Collaborate with Materials, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to implement change plans and ensure timely availability of components.

Liaise with suppliers on quotations, specifications, and engineering drawings, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.

Investigate and resolve delivery, costing, or invoicing issues, taking corrective actions as needed.

Maintain purchasing databases, documentation records, and company parts files, including product cross-references, costs, and specifications.

Manage locally-controlled supply contracts, service level agreements, and supplier performance.

Review and analyze purchasing costs, recommending actions at contract or purchase order renewal.

Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements for inbound shipping (customs, couriers, etc.) and arrange for payment of related fees, tariffs, and taxes.
About You

Education: Post-secondary education required.

Experience: Minimum 3 years of purchasing/procurement experience.

Certifications: Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) accreditation preferred.

Strong organizational ability and capacity to manage tight deadlines.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Languages: English required.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in SAP, ERP/MRP systems, and Microsoft Office.

Experience with Ariba, Aconcagua, or Vulcan is an asset.
