Procurement Specialist (6-Month Contract)
As a Procurement Specialist on a 6-month contract, you will play a key role in supporting our Supply Chain processes. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Logistics & Demand Planning, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical procurement activities, manage supplier relationships, and resolve issues related to delivery and costs within a fast-paced environment. Your expertise will directly contribute to the success of our operational goals, making this a highly impactful role during your time with us.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate procurement of commodities, goods, and services from approved suppliers.
• Execute online purchasing through e-procurement/e-sourcing tools.
• Manage license renewals and ensure timely availability of materials.
• Work with Material Coordinators, Engineering, and Manufacturing to implement Change Plans efficiently.
• Liaise with suppliers, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of all procurement-related information.
• Investigate and resolve delivery, costing, or invoicing issues, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
• Maintain purchasing databases and documentation, including product specifications and costing.
• Oversee locally-controlled supply contracts and manage service level agreements.
• Monitor regulatory requirements for inbound shipping, including customs and tariffs, ensuring timely payment of related fees.
More about you:
Education & Experience:
• Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement.
Skills & Competencies:
• Strong organization and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in SAP, ERP/MRP, and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage tight deadlines.
• Strong sourcing experience and ability to handle procurement tasks efficiently.
• Certification in Supply Chain Management (SCMP) is a plus.
• Familiarity with Ariba, Aconcagua, or Vulcan is desirable.
A minimum of 200Mb/sec download and 10Mb/sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote/hybrid employee functionality at Sonova
