Project Leader, New Product Introduction

Overview:  As a Project Leader – New Product Introduction you will be a bridge between design and manufacturing team, designing transfer of platform elements and products. You will be responsible for optimizing manufacturing cost, manufacturing quality, delivery readiness and yield in mass manufacturing for products and accessories. 

Responsible for the transfer of product and process knowledge to the 'Sustaining Engineering' and 'Process Engineering' departments (as part of the product introduction and during the ramp-up phase). You will be Consulting support in scaling and relocation activities as well as in post launch engineering activities.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Project planning aligned with Manufacturing Engineering departments in regard to resource allocation (rolling), as well as aligned with the product project leader
  • Aligning activities with R&D, especially with the R&D product project leader, as well as with subject matter experts of various technical disciplines (e.g. mechanical design, electro acoustics, packaging, HI software, etc.)
  • Aligning activities with Marketing, especially with the product manager
  • Time and cost correct industrialization of platform components, sub-assemblies and products, including corresponding processes and manufacturing equipment into any mass manufacturing site within Sonova
  • Early identification of needed manufacturing technologies and manufacturing processes to initiate its preparation to be developed and ready for mass manufacturing on time (this includes writing requirements (responsibility) in case of new process steps and manufacturing technologies)
  • Early identification of needed test technologies and test processes to initiate its preparation to be developed and ready for mass manufacturing on time (this includes writing requirements (responsibility) in case of new process steps and manufacturing technologies)
  • Approval and release of manufacturing process chains and materials (includes test execution for releasing materials and products)
  • Project reporting within Manufacturing Engineering and on Research & Development and Marketing side
  • Act as motivator and supporter for each project team member, to enable an efficient and effective collaboration in the team
  • Represents the Operating Centers and Group Companies aspects in review meetings and product release meetings
  • Coordinates post launch activities as a project leader for assigned manufacturing improvements

 

What you bring to the team:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Engineering, certification in Project Management an asset
  • Experience in product development and electronics manufacturing as well as mechanical equipment design, experience in embedded SW and test procedures an asset
  • Project management experience handling multiple high priority projects at a time
  • Quality oriented (observation of stage targets and deadlines)
  • Observation of data; looks for data leaks or weak points and organizes the missing data to keep proper tidiness (general striving for improved tidiness in complex systems)
  • Interdisciplinary thinking as well as analyzing ability
  • Good communicator both in verbal and written form
  • Experience leading project teams (takes immediate action in regard to crises and immediate risk; detects chances and takes action)
