Project Leader NPI (New Product Introduction)


Kitchener, ON, Canada – Hybrid

 

The Project Leader NPI is responsible for leading new product introduction projects and supporting the transfer of product designs from R&D into manufacturing. This role ensures efficient industrialization, cost optimization, and high-quality production readiness while collaborating across engineering, operations, and cross-functional teams.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead project planning and execution for new product introduction and manufacturing changes
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including R&D, Marketing, and Manufacturing Engineering
  • Support design transfer of components and products into mass manufacturing
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective industrialization of products and processes
  • Identify and implement manufacturing and test technologies required for production readiness
  • Align project activities with stakeholders and manage resource allocation
  • Monitor project progress and provide reporting across teams
  • Support post-launch activities including root cause analysis and process improvements
  • Drive implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and change management processes
  • Facilitate collaboration and ensure effective communication across project teams

 

More about you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (electronics, mechanical, mechatronics, or related field)
  • Experience in product development, electronics manufacturing, and project management
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and industrialization
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

 

Nice to have:

  • Master’s degree
  • Certifications in Project Management or Lean Six Sigma
  • Experience with medical devices or regulated industries
  • Experience with embedded software and testing processes
  • Knowledge of SAP and engineering tools (PDM, Windchill, etc.)

A minimum of 200Mb/sec download and 10Mb/sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote/hybrid employee functionality at Sonova

This role's pay range is between: $73,600 – $96,000 annually. This role is also bonus eligible.
