Project Leader NPI (New Product Introduction)
Kitchener, ON, Canada – Hybrid
The Project Leader NPI is responsible for leading new product introduction projects and supporting the transfer of product designs from R&D into manufacturing. This role ensures efficient industrialization, cost optimization, and high-quality production readiness while collaborating across engineering, operations, and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead project planning and execution for new product introduction and manufacturing changes
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including R&D, Marketing, and Manufacturing Engineering
- Support design transfer of components and products into mass manufacturing
- Ensure timely and cost-effective industrialization of products and processes
- Identify and implement manufacturing and test technologies required for production readiness
- Align project activities with stakeholders and manage resource allocation
- Monitor project progress and provide reporting across teams
- Support post-launch activities including root cause analysis and process improvements
- Drive implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and change management processes
- Facilitate collaboration and ensure effective communication across project teams
More about you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (electronics, mechanical, mechatronics, or related field)
- Experience in product development, electronics manufacturing, and project management
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and industrialization
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Nice to have:
- Master’s degree
- Certifications in Project Management or Lean Six Sigma
- Experience with medical devices or regulated industries
- Experience with embedded software and testing processes
- Knowledge of SAP and engineering tools (PDM, Windchill, etc.)
A minimum of 200Mb/sec download and 10Mb/sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote/hybrid employee functionality at Sonova

This role's pay range is between: $73,600 – $96,000 annually. This role is also bonus eligible.
