Mexico City, México | Hybrid
Business Controller
We are looking for an experienced Business Controller to join our Finance team in Mexico City. This position will serve as a key financial partner to the business, providing commercial insight, financial analysis, and guidance to support effective decision-making.
This is not a transactional accounting role. We are looking for someone with strong business-controlling experience, commercial understanding, and the maturity to take ownership of financial questions and develop toward broader Controller responsibilities over time.
Responsibilities:
-
Partner with Sales, Marketing, IT, HR, and other business functions to provide financial guidance and support business decisions.
-
Analyze sales, revenue, margins, costs, and overall business performance to identify opportunities and financial risks.
-
Evaluate pricing, promotions, and commercial initiatives to determine profitability and financial viability.
-
Support financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and business-performance analysis.
-
Monitor and analyze OPEX across business functions and provide recommendations to improve budget and cost performance.
-
Use your understanding of accounting fundamentals, including journal entries, postings, debits and credits, to interpret financial activity and reporting.
-
Provide financial recommendations and independently help business leaders navigate financial questions and challenges.
More about you:
-
Strong experience in business controlling, commercial finance, FP&A, or a similar finance function.
-
Demonstrated ability to analyze revenue, margins, costs, OPEX, and overall business performance.
-
Strong business-partnering skills with experience advising commercial teams and business leaders, not simply preparing reports.
-
Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals, including financial postings, journal entries, debits and credits.
-
Experience working with an ERP system. SAP Business One is preferred, although experience with other SAP environments, Oracle, or comparable ERP systems will also be considered.
-
Fluent English is required due to regular interaction with U.S., corporate, and international stakeholders.
-
Senior-level maturity, sound financial judgment, and the ability to independently handle business and financial challenges.
-
Experience within retail, wholesale, distribution, manufacturing, or another commercially focused environment is beneficial.
Don't meet all the criteria? If you’re willing to go all in and learn, we'd love to hear from you!
What we offer:
-
Annual salary: MXN $600,000 to $750,000, based on experience and qualifications.
-
Hybrid work arrangement in Mexico City: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote.
-
Benefits in accordance with the Federal Labor Law (LFT).
-
Savings fund (Fondo de Ahorro).
