Test Manager

Sonova Communications AG, located in Murten, is a company of the Sonova Group. We are the global market leader and Sonova’s competence center for ultra-miniaturized wireless communication systems. Our product offering ranges from communication devices for hearing impaired persons to professional communication solutions for security, industry and broadcast applications.

Test Manager (m/f)

 

In this role, you will  manage and coordinate all test activities for hearing products systems (products such as hearables developed within the Consumer Hearing Business including charger and app…)

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for the creation and delivery of the product’s test documentation (verification plan, verification report)
  • Responsible for development and maintenance of the test case collection for the products
  • Develop new test cases (manual, exploratory) according to the specifications
  • Coordinate automated test case engineering with automation engineers
  • Maintain and improve existing test cases
  • Ensure that testing practices are compliant with Sonova’s standard operating procedures and instructions
  • Plan and assign resources during all project phases for test case engineering and test execution
  • Coordinate testing activities with test managers of products having same launch schedule (hearing instrument, mobile apps, web apps, backend services, fitting software, etc.)
  • Conduct risk assessments and define priorities of tests according to result of risk assessment for risk based testing
  • Manage the testing progress and report the status to the relevant stakeholders (Product Owners, project leaders, development and verification teams etc.)
  • Responsible for the structure and traceable documentation of the ALM tool Polarion regarding verification (e.g. automated traceability, reports, etc.)
  • Define, establish and conduct the bug management process and manage or delegate bug investigation
  • Define, maintain, improve and document Sonova test practices, processes, tools and test infrastructures
  • Contribute to the R&D development process: planning, review, refinement of product increments
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary agile development teams and participate in the team rituals
  • Support the hiring process and onboarding for new hire
  • Share and learn test engineering related knowledge in communities

 

Your profile:

 

  • Engineering degree, higher technical school or apprenticeship with diploma in computer sciences, electronics or a related field
  • At least 5 years of work experience in an R&D role and environment
  • Proven track record and experience in software testing and engineering
  • Self-motivated, pro-active, team player, motivator and coach
  • Good planning and organization skills, able to priorities
  • High sense for quality and good communication skills
  • Able to collaborate with different stakeholders and peers
  • Able to lead and inspire the team of test engineers
  • Knowhow in test management, bug management and test case engineering
  • Fluent in English, French or German a plus
  • Experience with ALM tool
