Senior Surgical Support Specialist

We are seeking a Senior Surgical Support Specialist to provide advanced surgical support, clinical expertise, and leadership in training and education for surgeons and field staff. This influential role supports complex surgical cases and helps drive adoption of AB’s surgical solutions across the country.
Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced intraoperative and perioperative support during complex, first‑time, or escalated cochlear implant surgeries requiring elevated clinical expertise.
- Serve as a surgical technology consultant, supporting surgeons during live cases, cadaver labs, symposia, and individualized training sessions.
- Deliver remote on‑call OR support, providing real‑time troubleshooting and clinical guidance to surgical teams.
- Lead and support national and regional surgical education, including hands‑on workshops, demonstrations, and peer‑to‑peer programs.
- Train and mentor field staff and new Surgical Specialists on surgical techniques, product handling, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain expert‑level knowledge of AB product technology, anatomy, surgical techniques, and competitive landscape to inform strategy and elevate clinical excellence.
- Support operational and clinical improvement efforts through advanced troubleshooting, anatomical understanding, and best‑practice surgical guidance.
More about you:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or Doctoral degree in a medical or audiology‑related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of surgical sales, support, or training experience, ideally with medical devices
- Experience supporting cochlear implant surgeries strongly preferred
- Knowledge of operating room etiquette, sterile fields, and sterile techniques
- Familiarity with objective measures of hearing and cochlear implant function a plus
- Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills
- Strong organizational and prioritization abilities
- Ability to influence decisions without formal authority
- Adept at adapting to rapidly changing environments
- English fluency required; Spanish and/or French fluency preferred
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office and Salesforce.com
A minimum of 200Mb/sec download and 10Mb/sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote/hybrid employee functionality at Sonova

This role's pay range is between: $104,880 – $130,000. This role is also bonus eligible.
