Business Intelligence Specialist

The Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist purpose is to bridge the gap between business and IT and develops, maintains and supports BI reports and dashboards using Datawarehouse. Act as a content sparring partner of senior management and group company controllers.. This position is located in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

 

Your tasks

  • Acts as the bridge between Business and Software Development
  • Translate strategy and policy into technical business intelligence (BI) solutions.
  • Being a content sparring partner of management and controllers
  • Give advice on the content and layout of management reports and dashboards, and analysis environments. 
  • Design, develop and implement BI solutions such as management reports and dashboards using PBI.
  • Set up and configures end-user training and provides go-live support for all BI reports and dashboards..
  • Coordinates and facilitates retail systems and infrastructure needs and requirements
  • Support and optimize existing reports/dashboards and data models.
  • Operates in compliance with all local, state and Federal laws as well as Company policy and compliance standards
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

 

Your profile

Education

  • BA/BS in Information Technology, Business, Finance or closely related field
  • MBA, preferably with a concentration in Information Technology, preferred

 

Certifications

  • Advanced Power BI experience required
  • Datawarehouse and ETL experience required

 

Industry/Product Knowledge Required

  • Healthcare industry and/or multiunit retail industry knowledge, preferred 
  • International Retail experience preferred but not required
  • Strong knowledge of Power BI and DAX
  • Strong knowledge of MS SQL and SSAS Tabular model
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure BI environment

  • Solid organizational and time management skills
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to influence decision making

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience with data rehousing/ETL and report design with Power BI and DAX
  • MS SQL and ETL experience with at least 2 full cycle implementations as BI specialist
    Report Design, Dashboarding and data warehouse architecture
  • Strong experience in building interactive reports and dashboard using Power BI, managing Power BI environments and know how to apply software best practices
  • Data modeling, star schema, and design with Microsoft BI Suite (SSIS,SSAS,SSRS)
  • Experience working with Microsoft Azure BI environment
  • Experience with Azure DevOps is good to have
  • Experience with Retail Back Office and Practice Management systems
  • Experience modeling business processes
