Audiological Researcher (limited for 10 months)

In our R&D group, we develop hearing solutions and services for hearing impaired people and hearing care professionals in the form of hearing instruments, accessories, web services, mobile applications and PC software. We continuously seek the edge of current technologies to go beyond.
With these 10 months (from 03 till 12/2025) you will work in a multi-disciplinary team in Sonova’s Research & the Development department contributing and/or driving functional innovation in the domains of audiological and fitting performance and audiological methods. You will contribute to platform development, system integration, optimization, and parametrization of hearing performance solutions in hearing devices.

 

Your tasks

 

  • Implement and record of technical measurements
  • Develop new test methods to validate audiological concepts
  • Collaborate with relevant partners (i.e., subject matter experts, researchers, business units) to develop protocols 
  • Design, coordinate, and monitor clinical studies (internal and with external collaborators)
  • Execute clinical studies in compliance with local regulations  
  • Perform diagnostic hearing testing & fitting of hearing devices using standard clinical audiological methods 
  • Analyze results and formulate proposals for implementation in our products and systems
  • Literature and competitor monitoring
  • Participation in conferences and presentations to scientific audiences

 
Your profile

 

  • University degree (MSc, PhD, or equivalent qualification) in audiology, hearing aid technology or a related field 
  • Experience in planning, designing, executing and reporting on clinical studies in audiology or auditory implants
  • Sound audiological knowledge as well as experience with fitting and programming hearing systems
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, audio processing software (e.g. Audition) and basic programming skills in MATLAB or Python 
  • Data analysis, statistics, and presentation skills 
  • Competence in setting up lab measurements with electroacoustic equipment 
  • Analytical, networked thinking, independent and proactive way of working, customer orientation and strong ability to work in a team  
  • Native level fluency in German; excellent English communication skills (written and spoken)
