Electronics Engineer - PCB Development (Charging Solutions)
We are seeking for Electronics Engineer – PCB Development to join our Charging Solutions Department.
Working on PCB solutions for Sonova hearing products, you will design, test, and optimize hardware that directly impacts people’s daily lives. More about the role
- Design, develop, and optimize PCB solutions for charger platforms used in Sonova hearing solutions.
- Create and maintain schematics, PCB layouts, component libraries, and support feasibility through circuit simulations.
- Define and manage sustainable BOMs, qualify components, and prepare manufacturing and assembly data with DFM/DFT considerations.
- Evaluate, test, debug, and validate analog and digital hardware against system requirements.
- Coordinate prototype builds, evaluation boards, and test setups with internal and external manufacturing partners.
- Collaborate closely with System & Electronics Engineering and contribute to R&D planning, reviews, and continuous product improvement.
- Document design and test activities, support compliance and audits, share expertise, and help maintain laboratory infrastructure.
More about you
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering (or equivalent) with 3+ years of hands-on experience in electronic circuit design, prototyping, testing, and debugging.
- Strong proficiency in PCB design, preferably using Altium Designer, with a solid understanding of low-power and mixed-signal electronics.
- Practical experience with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, impedance analyzers, signal generators, battery simulators, and SMUs.
- Programming experience or familiarity with C/C++, Python, or MATLAB for test automation or data analysis is a plus.
- Knowledge of low-power PCB layout techniques, grounding strategies, EMC considerations, and electrical safety standards for medical devices (e.g., IEC 60601-1) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with modern development and collaboration tools such as GitHub, VS Code, Jira, and Confluence; German language skills are a plus.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and quality-oriented team player with a structured yet flexible working style, comfortable in diverse, interdisciplinary, and distributed environments.
