Master Data Governance Lead (m/f/d)

 

As Master Data Governance Lead you partner closely with business stakeholders, Global Key Users (GKUs) and IT teams to execute master data strategies and support the achievement of business goals.

 

You act as the trusted point of contact for master data processes within your assigned scope, ensuring professional tool management, data governance, advisory support and alignment with global standards. In this role, you contribute to operational efficiency, process optimization and continuous improvement of Material Master Data processes.

  • Act as the primary contact and application owner for MDG (Master Data Governance) and DQ (Data Quality), ensuring smooth operations, tool adoption and continuous process improvements
  • Lead the administration, lifecycle management, and strategic optimization of MDM tools (TIBCO, Informatica, ServiceNow, SharePoint, OneSonova) while ensuring stability, performance, and alignment with business needs
  • Define, implement and enforce data governance policies, workflows and programming rules to ensure high data quality and regulatory compliance
  • Serve as Global Key User (GKU) for master data, supporting material creation, enrichment, distribution, launch, phase-out and deletion processes
  • Develop, implement and facilitate global training programs and materials for Material Master Data users to ensure adoption, accessibility and continuous improvement
  • Coach, mentor and develop MDM team members, sharing expertise in MDG and DQ tools and fostering team effectiveness
  • Monitor data quality, resolve complex issues and identify process improvement opportunities to drive operational efficiency, accuracy and consistency

 

More about you

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree / Higher Level Diploma or equivalent working experience
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Master Data Management, Master Data Governance, and Data Quality
  • Strong expertise in MDG tools (e.g., TIBCO EBX, SAP MDG, Informatica) and Data Quality tools (e.g., Informatica DQ)
  • Solid understanding of the SAP MM module is highly desirable, ideally within an SAP S/4HANA environment
  • Experienced in collaborating with stakeholders, managing complex processes, and driving results with a strong sense of urgency and accountability
  • Independent, pragmatic, and detail-oriented, with a systematic approach to work
  • Fluent in English; German is nice to have
  • Passionate about people management and team development
