Senior Manager Procurement - New Product Introduction

Sonova is seeking a senior procurement leader who brings a fresh and modern outlook to join the organization to partner with the R&D, NPI functions to work at the beginning of the product life cycle and ensure risks apparent in the complex business environment are mitigated early and turn into value creation and competitive advantage. 

 

The immaturity of procurement partnering in these areas provide significant scope for the person joining to build and deploy the overall strategy to enable both short and long-term savings impact, enhance profitability, improve the cash position, manage risks through building strong business (sites, and functional) and supplier relationships from both a centralized and decentralized perspective.  

 

The role will also collaborate with the rest of the Global Procurement Organization (Global Category Leaders, Procurement Business Partners and the Procurement Center of Excellence) to ensure dialogue and business requirements are well captured.

 

Sonova is a fast-paced change organisation and it is key that the person joining the team should be adept to operating within such an environment.  A knowledge of the wider business challenges and opportunities will be necessary in understanding and instigating how the procurement function can help the business deliver it’s goals.

 

Your tasks

 

  • Work in close collaboration with business stakeholders to get a clear understanding of future business needs, to determine the appropriate Procurement strategy, to source vendors, and to ensure the consistency between the technical specifications, vendor proposals, and contractual documents
  • Attend R&D & engineering projects meeting and support operational team with update of the procurement activities
  • Support VA/VE activity 
  • Work closely with global R&D and other global procurement colleagues to align on best practices, define procurement opportunities and enhance processes and procedures,
  • Coordinate providers’ performance assessment, vendor oversight and provide Supplier Relationship Management
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor project documentation from sourcing to exit
  • Provide leadership and methodology to integrate Sonova requirements (technical, legal, financial, Compliance etc.) throughout the relationship with vendors on the Source – Engage – Maintain – Exit lifecycle.
  • Create and ensure excellent execution against short, mid and long term goals and objectives aligned to business priorities, whilst managing risks
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and lead negotiation efforts to obtain best value prices, terms, and optimized lead-times for services and goods. 
  • Implement the procurement process according to the global procurement policy and procurement best practice.
  • Manage compliance by the sites and functions to the correct buying channel and approved/preferred suppliers

 

 

Your profile

 

  • University degree or equal education in area of Business Administration or Finance
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in a comparable role in an international and global environment 
  • Experience within a engineering / pharma / life sciences environment with strong understanding of the R&D process and knowledge of related R&D regulations such as GLP
  • Strong leadership skills paired with a change management mindset and experience of driving change within a demanding timeframe
  • Team player at executive levels collaborating with business leads in finance, IT, legal, marketing, HR etc.
  • Proven track record of delivering value and developing procurement capability in a complex, global business
  • In-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices across indirect category areas
  • Strategic mindset and ability to turn complex business problems into value creation
  • Excellent English skills both written and spoken, any other language is an asset
