Test Engineer
In our Research & Development group, we develop hearing solutions and services for hearing impaired people, hearing care professionals, and further related people, in the form of hearing devices, accessories, web services, mobile applications, and PC software. Our agile engineering process relies on reusable engineering assets, made of software, electronics, and mechanical parts.
As Test Engineer, your role is to design and execute tests for the purpose of verifying the quality and functionality of hearing solutions, which include hearing devices, their configuration software called “fitting software”, accessory devices (e.g. remote microphone, Mobile or Web software and services), and further products (e.g. Software Development Kits).
Your tasks
- Review product specifications for testability
- Analyze, design, document, review and execute test cases, report test execution and maintain the existing test base
- Execute test cases for regression and for new functionality
- Investigate and report bugs, and re-test bug fixes
- Assist software engineers with test case automation
- Help define, develop, improve and document Sonova test engineering practices, processes, tools and test infrastructures
- Support the Test Manager in analyzing test coverage, and in defining a test strategy (e.g. risk based testing)
- Share and learn test engineering related knowledge in communities
- Contribute to the R&D development process and interdisciplinary agile rituals (e.g. planning, review, etc.)
Your profile
- University degree in engineering, higher technical school, or apprenticeship with diploma
- At least 2 years’ experience as a Software Test Engineer, preferably in a regulated industry
- Experienced in testing in an iterative and incremental product development context (Agile or large scale agile context)
- Ability to effectively integrate information from varied disciplines including multiple engineering disciplines marketing and regulatory affairs
- Ability to work effectively across geographical, cultural and language borders
- Experience in Total Quality Management environment
- Good communication skills in English, German is a plus
