lnnovations & Process Engineer
Purpose of the Job
Process Engineer responsible for shaping the future of manufacturing at the local OC by driving automation, digitalization and emerging technologies. Supports and industrializes automated and semi-automated production processes while exploring and validating next-generation solutions such as AI-driven manufacturing, advanced robotics, humanoid robots, autonomous material handling and smart factory technologies. Acts as a catalyst for innovation, ensuring production readiness for future manufacturing challenges and opportunities.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Responsible for first- and second-level production support at SOCS by maintaining, controlling and continuously advancing automated and semi-automated manufacturing processes, including laser processing, SMT assembly, dispensing, underfill, jetting, curing, lacquering and coating technologies. Drives the adoption of advanced automation, smart manufacturing solutions and digital process technologies to enhance operational performance.
- Responsible for optimizing manufacturing quality, cost, delivery performance and yield through continuous improvement of production processes and products. Leads and supports automation, digitalization and innovation initiatives as task or project manager and subject matter expert, including Change Plan Owner, Special Batch Owner and ISIR Owner responsibilities.
- Performs technical investigations, process validation and documentation activities. Develops and delivers training concepts for operators and technical teams while promoting the implementation of new manufacturing technologies, automation solutions and best practices
- Responsible for the timely resolution of equipment, process and product non-conformance issues. Utilizes data-driven methodologies and advanced process monitoring techniques to improve equipment reliability, process capability and manufacturing robustness (roles include NC Owner and NC Action Owner).
- Collaborates in the introduction, industrialization and scaling of new products, processes and manufacturing technologies, as well as the transfer of production processes across global sites. Supports the deployment of advanced robotics, AI-enabled systems, machine vision, autonomous manufacturing solutions and future smart factory concepts.
- Proactively scouts, evaluates and pilots emerging manufacturing technologies, including advanced robotics, humanoid robots, AI-driven automation, autonomous material handling systems and Industry 4.0 solutions, assessing their applicability to hearing aid and medical device manufacturing.
- Acts as a technology champion within SOCS, identifying opportunities to leverage innovative manufacturing concepts to improve productivity, flexibility, quality and sustainability while ensuring future readiness of manufacturing operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Robotics, Manufacturing Engineering or Material Science
- Education in Project Management
- Continuous Improvement and Problem-Solving methodologies
- Experience in automated and semi-automated manufacturing environments
- Experience in electronics manufacturing, medical devices or other highly regulated industries
- Experience in process optimization and industrialization

- Languages: German and English / Fluent speaking and writing is mandatory.
