Coordinator, Reimbursement

The Reimbursement Coordinator provides remote support to assist customers with health care reimbursement needs.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Verify insurance benefits and eligibility, obtain prior authorizations for patient orders (accessories, processors, surgeries), and submit claims via web portals, email, fax, and phone.
  • Coordinate with cochlear implant clinics, surgery centers, PCPs, and external medical facilities to collect required medical records for insurance processing.
  • Serve as liaison between patients, providers, and health plans to ensure positive determinations and timely claim payments.
  • Prepare and submit CMS-1500 claim forms electronically or by paper, resolve clearinghouse rejections, and manage patient invoicing, refunds, and account reconciliation.
  • Respond to insurance-related inquiries, provide benefit details, and explain patient financial responsibility for deductibles and coinsurance.
  • Handle first-level appeals for denials or partial payments, submit supporting documentation, and aggressively follow up to recover outstanding balances from carriers and patients.

Additional Key Responsibilities: Maintain & updated patient insurance records as needed. Perform prior approval and claim appeals as needed.

 

 

More about you:

Education

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: Further education in healthcare or related field

Work Experience

  • Required: Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare reimbursement
  • Preferred: At least 2 years in health insurance reimbursement with expertise in eligibility & benefit verification, prior authorizations, and claim processing

Personal Competencies

  • Required: Team-oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and foster positive relationships

Social Competencies

  • Required: Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines across departments

Professional Competencies

  • Required: Ability to work with all levels of management and peers, maintain professionalism, and communicate effectively across the organization

Language

  • Required: English

IT Skills

  • Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office

 

A minimum of 200Mb/sec download and 10Mb/sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote/hybrid employee functionality at Sonova

This role's pay range is between: $51,200/yr – 76,800/yr. This role is also bonus eligible.
