Director, Performance, Insight & Lifecycle Management
The Director of Lifecycle Management, Insights & Performance is a strategic leadership role responsible for maximizing the long-term value of the company’s medical device portfolio across global markets. This individual drives lifecycle strategy from launch optimization through maturity and end-of-life planning, while embedding data-driven insights and performance analytics into commercial decision-making.
The role integrates portfolio strategy, market intelligence, pricing performance, demand planning alignment, and post-market optimization within a regulated healthcare environment.
This is an on-site (Valencia, CA) opportunity for leading key projects support global business success such as strategic planning, market modelling, competitive analysis, and M&A activities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead global portfolio lifecycle strategy, including governance across all product phases (launch through sunset), driving decisions on line extensions, SKU rationalization, platform transitions, and innovation opportunities.
- Oversee enterprise portfolio performance and risk management, conducting executive portfolio reviews and developing strategies for obsolescence, lifecycle risks, and long-term product viability.
- Build and lead global analytics and market intelligence capabilities, delivering executive dashboards, KPIs, and data-driven insights on portfolio health, revenue, margins, and market share.
- Translate complex data into strategic insights, integrating competitive intelligence, market research, and Voice of Customer to inform product and portfolio decisions.
- Drive commercial performance optimization, partnering with global teams on pricing, product positioning, profitability, and turnaround strategies for underperforming products.
- Provide cross-functional enterprise leadership, aligning R&D, regulatory, operations, finance, and commercial teams to ensure product strategy, regulatory compliance, and market execution are fully integrated.
- Lead long-term strategic planning and organizational impact, including 3–5 year portfolio roadmaps, M&A and partnership evaluations, and advising executive leadership on investment priorities while building scalable, high-performing teams and processes.
Travelling Requirement: up to 20%
More about you:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of related experience in Finance or FP&A, with strong business acumen.
- Prior experience in M&A and business development required.
- Demonstrated experience in analytical roles such as finance or consulting, with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Class III implantable medical device experience strongly preferred, ideally combining both commercial and technical exposure.
- Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly to senior stakeholders.
- High intellectual curiosity with the ability to quickly learn, adapt, and operate effectively in new or complex environments.
A minimum of 200Mb/sec download and 10Mb/sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote/hybrid employee functionality at Sonova

This role's pay range is between $174,800/yr - $262,200/yr. This role is also bonus eligible.
