Entry Level to Senior Software Engineer

Purpose of the Job:  Improve the patient interface to a sensory prosthesis and give hundreds of thousands of people more control over their hearing.  Your prototypes will control an implantable medical device designed to provide hearing to adults and children with severe-to-profound hearing loss. Your software prototypes will utilize modern mobile and cloud-connected technologies to improve clinical process and bring benefit to our patients through simplified workflow, improved data collection, and automated adjustments. Your creativity and resourcefulness will be highly valued in this fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment where researchers, clinicians, and technologists collaborate to develop novel concepts for real world evaluation.

 

Travelling Requirement - Minimal, worldwide

 

What you'll do:

 

  • Develop mobile and desktop software using Swift, C#, and other relevant programming languages.
  • Participate in all aspects of software development from conception to implementation and testing, together with a team of diverse colleagues in different locations and group companies.
  • Help define software solutions by actively seeking input from diverse stakeholders to understand opportunity, constraints, and objectives of features and workflows.
  • Develop specifications, designs and test plans related to product development activities.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement software design improvements by organizing, planning, tracking and closing out design problems.
  • Serve as subject matter expert in software development while taking input from those familiar with the needs of patients, clinicians, and processes.
  • Stay informed about modern technologies for mobile and desktop software applications and help apply them in medical device environment.

What you bring to the team:

 

  • Senior Software Engineer: Minimum 5 years of professional experience, in a combination of prototyping and product development environments. Minimum 3 years of experience as a Mobile Software Engineer and minimum 3 years of experience as a PC Software Engineer.
  • Software Engineer - entry level: Master’s degree in Computer Science from reputable engineering school required.
  • Delivered reliable mobile application software.
  • Commitment to achieving timely results while working flexibly to capitalize on new opportunities.
  • Good communication skills (speaking, listening, and writing). Collaborative mindset that welcomes input and contributions from diverse colleagues with deep knowledge of the application domain.
  • Ability to synthesize input from diverse colleagues with deep knowledge of the application domain.
  • Swift, C# programming languages.
  • WPF and UI development experience for PC software.
  • Comfort with developing robust software in a rapidly evolving research environment.
  • Demonstrated abilities to define and document software architecture, design, and software interfaces collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Development environments for mobile applications and desktop software creation.
  • Demonstrated abilities to learn and apply new programming languages and software development technologies as needed.
