Reliability Technician, Quality Assurance I

Reliability Technician, Quality Assurance I
Product Quality Support performs routine Quality Assurance tasks for a specific component or product.
Responsibilities:
- With guidance from Senior Technicians, Engineers, and Management, conduct comprehensive electronic and mechanical assessments of returned Implantable Cochlear Stimulator (ICS) system components, including ICS devices, external sound processors, headpieces, batteries, and accessories. Utilize advanced diagnostic techniques to identify and characterize component failures.
- Support Senior Technicians, Engineers, and Management performing thorough root cause analysis of returned devices. Interpret test results, identify trends, and contribute to corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to enhance product reliability.
- Assist in performing reliability studies on returned devices, leveraging analytical findings to support product improvements and risk assessments. Provide technical input for process refinements and design enhancements.
- Adhere rigorously to established procedures for handling and analyzing returned devices. Maintain precise, detailed records in databases, ensuring traceability and compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams, including R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing, to communicate findings and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Take on supplementary tasks aligned with department objectives, including special projects and process optimizations related to failure analysis and product reliability.

- ASQ Certified Quality Technician
Work Experience
- Minimum of 2 years in a testing, analysis, or engineering environment
Nice to Have
- Previous Medical Device Failure Analysis experience (or other High Reliability discipline e.g. Aerospace)

Further Requirements
- Ability to troubleshoot & perform inspections using a microscope.
- Ability to maintain accurate and timely database records.
- Familiarity with basic electronics troubleshooting equipment e.g. Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies
- Will work with x-rays in conducting product analysis.

• Mechanical / Materials analysis experience.
• Experience with RF theory and electronics theory.
• Understanding of troubleshooting theory and Failure Analysis methodology.

This role's pay range is between $20/hr - $30/hr (based on location). This role is also bonus eligible.
