Senior, Product Firmware Engineer

What you’ll do:

The Firmware Engineer will develop embedded software for the Product Firmware team.  The Product Firmware team designs and develops software applications that run on Behind the Ear (BTE) hearing instruments. 

 

•        Contribute to codebases written in C/C++, Python, and C#.

•        Perform software testing, included automated testing and unit testing

•        Provide root-cause analysis for issues reported by QA and recipient feedback

•        Collaborate with large firmware team in distributed version control repository

•        Support QA, electrical, ASIC design, and other engineering teams

•        Analyze data obtained in clinical tests

•        Perform technical documentation, including generating software specifications

•        Adhere to strict international medical device regulatory standards

What you bring to the team:

Basic Education    

Bachelor in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Master’s degree

 

Work Experience    2+ years of experience in software development

2+ years of experience in embedded software development for consumer electronic products

Professional Competencies       

•        Strong background in analog, digital, and embedded systems design

•        Skills in C or C++ languages

•        Familiarity with ARM Processors

•        Understanding of RTOS and bare metal development environments

•        Knowledge of modern IDEs, version control, and automated builds

•        Strong documentation and writing skills

•        Proficiency in C++, familiarity with assembly

•        Experience in one or more of the following: Bluetooth, other wireless communication protocols, cyber security

•        Familiarity with Test-Driven Development and automated testing

•        Skills in Python and C#
