Senior Engineer, Lean Manufacturing

Overview

 

As a Senior Engineer, Process/Lean Manufacturing you will be identifying areas of improvement in safety, quality, and productivity in the manufacturing of AB’s Class III medical devices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams/leaders/engineers to deliver improvements, conduct continuous improvement projects using Lean manufacturing and problem-solving tools, including Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Fishbone Diagram, Level Loading, Single Piece Flow, 5S, etc., This position primarily covers the manufacturing organization but may require you to branch off into different departments to support Kaizens that improve business performance.  This job requires an energetic, self-motivated person with a positive attitude, who will ensure that all improvements implemented are consistent with Regulatory, Quality, and Corporate Compliance requirements.

 

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Through the use of Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, or other similar technique identify processes within manufacturing that can achieve a significant efficiency gain, cost savings, and/or inventory reduction.  Lead implementation of these proposed changes and ensure improvements are sustainable and achieve planned goals.
  • Provide Lean leadership and coaching to engineers, operators, supervisors, and other staff to help the business achieve SonovaX goals/timelines.
  • Ensure all proposed improvements are consistent with Regulatory, Quality, and Corporate Compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing to ensure their annual productivity goals for yield and efficiency are achieved. 
  • Partner closely with engineering team to identify opportunity for automation to improve process quality/efficiency.
  • Drive Visual/Daily management and establish KPIs that are critical to the business achieving its goals.
  • Steward a shift in organizational culture to one in which Continuous Improvement is a cornerstone.
  • Provide regular reports to Sr. Management highlighting programs and accomplishments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you bring to the team:

 

 

Education

  • BS Mechanical Engineering or related Science

Nice to Have

  • Master’s Degree

 

 

Work Experience

  • 5 or more years of experience in using Lean Manufacturing tools to drive efficiency and cost savings at the manufacturing level
  • Experience in Medical Device industry

  • Self-starter, hands on, direct and clear communicator, honest, genuine, confident and secure.
  • Highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent written, oral, and communication skills

  • Must possess strong computer skills with background with ERP/MRP systems (prefer SAP) and Microsoft Office.

Pay Ranges: $93,600/yr - $140,400/yr
