As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team within a midsized group company of a global leader, you are responsible for the strategic vision to drive growth and business performance through Marketing and brand Audiology excellence.
You will lead all marketing, commercial enablement and customer success efforts for the wholesale division of Sonova UK & IE; overseeing lead generation and added value for all B2B channels, providing sound strategic judgement and budget direction in the areas of commercial planning, brand management and customer satisfaction.
The Marketing Director will enhance our market presence and drive growth. Providing a deep understanding of our products, pricing, brand and audiology strategies, customer channels and promotional activities.
The role involves coaching a growth mindset of continuous improvement and excellence deployment, whilst developing direct reports and cultivating talent. As a key position within the leadership team, this role carries responsibilities for adherence to all regulatory and Sonova compliance policies and procedures, and setting the ‘tone from the top’.
About The Role:
Commercial Strategy:
- Monitor macro environmental factors, competitive activity and customer needs to build effective and relevant local marketing, audiology added-value plans, that ensure business objectives are reached.
- Ensure alignment with Global Marketing team in the annual commercial planning phase, and alignment throughout the year.
- Manage the brand strategy for Sonova UK & IE’s house of brands, including Phonak, Unitron, Roger, Lyric and Sennheiser.
- Manage the channel strategy for Sonova UK & IE’s customer groups, including Independents, Multi Nationals, Large Retail Accounts, NHS, Government Reimbursement and Education.
- Provide strategic direction on all marketing-oriented initiatives both within the department and the organisation, across all channels.
- Measure ROI of commercial activity and report results quarterly, being flexible and agile to adapt to any changing business / market needs.
Marketing, Commercial Excellence & Added Value:
- Put the customer at the heart of all we do and create brand differentiation through highly effective and relevant added value and educational programs (both business and audiology based) across all customer channels – building customer success which is always aligned with compliance principles and within budget.
- Build, execute and adapt local Commercial Excellence plan (in line with Global Team), managing lead generation, intakes and impact of marketing activity to drive growth. Ensure effective funnel management.
Product Portfolio Management:
- Manage the Sonova product portfolio throughout the full product life cycle, from launch to phase out.
- Take responsibility for the price and market positioning of new and existing products in line with local market insight and portfolio management.
- Facilitate the launch of products into the market in line with the commercial plan, strategy and regulations.
- Manage the monitoring and feedback of product performance to ensure implementation of successful promotional strategies throughout the product life-cycle.
- Oversee the product forecasting process in collaboration with the Sales Director and Commercial Director.
Leadership
- Lead and mentor the marketing team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment of excellence, aligned with our Values and Leadership Principles.
- Work closely with Sales and Audiology teams to enhance service delivery and patient experience.
Finance & Budget Management
- Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources for optimal results. Work closely with Finance Director and be flexible to adapt to the changing needs of the business.
- As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, ensure sound decision making based on knowledge of the broad commercial business and P&L impact (contributory margin considerations).
Compliance:
- Have up-to-date knowledge and expertise with regulatory and compliance standards in all marketing initiatives, including GDPR, ensuring Customer Data Privacy and Protection.
- Ensure compliance with team to follow Delegation of Authority and maintain effective record keeping in line with ICS controls.
- As a key leader in the business, ensuring regular training of the team and setting the ‘tone from the top’ on all key compliance policy areas.
