Procurement Manager Freight & Logistics
Sonova is seeking a Category Manager for Freight and Logistics who brings a fresh and modern outlook to join the organisation to partner with the Operations and Customer Function to achieve a step change in Inter Company, B2C along with improving supplier performance, by providing a specific vision and strategic direction across Global Logistics procurement and the business, aligned to the overall strategic needs for Freight and Logistics at Sonova.
They will be the procurement business partner for Ops, Sales and will be required to deliver exceptional results by developing influential and positive relationships across Sonova globally. They will be accountable for the development and delivery of optimal category strategies for all 3rd party Freight spend and will undertake specific procurement projects/initiatives in order to support Sonova’s wider business objectives.
The person appointed will be able to demonstrate leadership in a global environment and will be expected to identify and implement significant cost savings and drive efficiencies across the global supply chain that enables growth.
Sonova is a fast-paced change organisation and it is key that the person joining the team should be adept to operating within such an environment. A knowledge of the wider business challenges and opportunities will be necessary in understanding and instigating how the procurement function can help the business deliver it’s goals
Your tasks:
- Work as an integral member of the global procurement team to achieve and maintain upper-quartile performance of the Global Freight suppliers in order to support Sonova globally.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the wider strategic goals of the global procurement function providing a category and sub category vision for Freight and providing procurement business partnering services to the Freight function globally. With key links into Regional and Local requirements when required.
- Provide strong support to Category Lead, in generating a clear sense of vision and purpose that inspires and challenges both the business and supply chain to pursue and deliver that vision.
- Develop strong commercial relationships with suppliers that continuously improves the value proposition provided by the supplier to Sonova
- Overall management of Global Freight spend to
- develop and maintain current supply market landscape
- develop and maintain current supply market knowledge
- define supplier capability and commercial evaluation matrix
- negotiate and manage the contract cycle in line with business controls
- develop and maintain long-term supplier performance management
- Create an environment where ideas are pursued and delivered to improve supplier performance across the Freight spectrum.
- Realise innovation from the supply chain by bringing new thinking, new products, services and solutions.
- Work with OPEX team to embrace and embed best practice procurement policies, processes, procedures, governance, tools and commerciality within Freight category.
- Role model, coach, champion and lead in a way that creates an environment of high integrity, trust and commitment within your key stakeholder group and 4PL partners.
- Support Category Lead for all 3rd party spend covering all aspects of the end-to-end supply chain and ensuring that Value (i.e. Quality, Commercial & Delivery) is continually delivered.
- Identify business supply risks across the Freight category and ensure appropriate action is taken to manage risk.
- Lead procurement related projects as required by the procurement leadership team.
Your profile:
- 5-10 years of procurement/supply chain management experience in Global Freight, including b2C an C2b area
- strong leadership skills and style; change management mindset with experience of driving change within a demanding timeframe
- team player across the Supply Chain network, and Procurement
- proven track record of delivering value and developing procurement capability in a complex, global business
- in-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices across indirect category areas
- strong commercial acumen and experience of delivering large complex freight programs
- strategic mindset and ability to turn complex business problems into value creation
- demonstrates high priority for team and personnel development, talent management
