VAT&Tax Analyst

Purpose of the Tax Analyst (VAT) job is to perform VAT compliance filings and support other operational activities related to VAT matters for selected group companies / countries. The role further, supports various project activities in the area of Indirect Tax / VAT, as well as continues improvement initiatives implementations (business change/ERP related) in alignment with Global Process Owner or line manager. 

 


Your tasks:

 

  • VAT compliance and reporting submissions for Sonova Group Companies (GCs) as per assigned scope, mainly within the EMEA region, such as VAT declaration, EC-Sale List, Intrastat or specific local reporting obligations.
  • Quality review and validation of records submitted to the tax authorities. 
  • Execution of VAT reconciliation activities and validation procedures. 
  • Coordination of corrective activities for incorrect tax code allocations. 
  • Support to the AP team in assignment of tax codes to invoices where requested.
  • Communication with different levels of stakeholders in the organization and support to internal business partners on VAT matters for delegated tasks and in alignment with superior manager, e.g. with accounting function, finance, order management etc. 
  • Supporting superior manager in project activities, ERP changes testing, documents checking and analysis of documents, VAT audits and documentation. 
  • Supporting the Global Process Owner (GPO) and Global Key User (GKU) function in testing and implementing new solutions and system changes. 

 

 

Your profile:

 

  • Bachelor or Master  in Economics or Tax Laws
  • 1-3 years of experience in VAT compliance activities / submissions in EMEA-EU region either in-house or in a tax consulting firm
  • Knowledge of VAT compliance regulations on EU level; good understanding of VAT principles and structures; ability to read and interpret VAT regulations
  • English proficiency (verbal & written) is a must, other language skill are welcome
  • High level understanding of cross-functional processes with impact in VAT (mainly AP/AR)
  • Affinity to new technologies, ability and willingness to work in and learn new tools (ERP, consolidation tools, other internal systems, etc.); Excel skilled
  • Ability to work with mass data / mass data validations in analytical manner and present the outcome of the analysis in summarized logical way; analytical thinking approach overall
  • Able to work standalone under guidance and drive own tasks
  • Willing to learn and develop own capabilities
  • Proactive, reliable and communicative
