Director,  East Area Sales

 

Accountable for leading the overall management of sales strategies, activities, operations, and budgets associated with driving sales for the organization in a respective geographic area. Area Sales Director is responsible for hiring, coaching, retention strategies and development of sales managers and sales representatives in line with the sales competency models and supporting these field personnel in the efficient and effective leadership of their teams. This position will leverage internal resources and market knowledge to drive effective Area business management resulting in customer and patient satisfaction to meet or exceed 100% of annual sales goals and objectives. This position will serve as a member of the Advanced Bionics Sales Leadership Team.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute Area sales strategies aligned with North America objectives by leveraging market intelligence, healthcare trends, customer insights, reimbursement data, and cross-company collaboration to drive market share, growth, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.
  • Lead Area performance by delivering revenue, profitability, pipeline, market share, and growth targets while overseeing daily operations, managing budgets, monitoring KPIs, conducting business reviews, improving forecasting accuracy, and driving accountability through Regional Managers.
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing Regional Managers and sales teams by fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer focus, performance excellence, succession planning, talent development, and continuous performance management.
  • Drive business development and market expansion by increasing referrals, patient access, therapy adoption, demand generation, and sustainable pipeline growth through the integration of Business Development, Field Sales, Marketing, Digital, Clinical, and Customer Experience teams.
  • Partners with Marketing, Clinical, Operations, Customer Service, Education & Training, Corporate Accounts, and other cross-functional stakeholders to lead strategic initiatives, address contracting and reimbursement opportunities, influence business outcomes, and ensure successful execution of company priorities.
  • Build and manage executive-level relationships with cochlear implant centers, surgeons, audiologists, IDNs, GPOs, strategic accounts, and professional associations while leading strategic account planning, contract negotiations, pricing strategies, partnerships, and representing Advanced Bionics at industry events.
  • Promote a culture of ethics, compliance, transparency, and responsible business practices by ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, company policies, audits, and governance requirements while supporting organizational initiatives and additional business responsibilities as assigned.

 

 

More about you:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with an advanced degree (MBA, AuD, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum eight years of experience in medical device, healthcare, or related commercial sales management, including leadership of sales professionals; previous audiology, cochlear implant, or hearing healthcare experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead with accountability, learning agility, execution excellence, operational independence, and a scalable mindset while consistently delivering measurable business results in complex environments.
  • Proven leadership capabilities, including coaching and developing high-performing teams, driving strategic execution, building trust and followership, managing performance, and influencing cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Extensive experience leading multi-layered sales organizations (leaders of leaders), with expertise in demand generation, B2B and B2C conversion strategies, revenue growth, organizational change management, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to develop and execute commercial strategies, influence key stakeholders, and deliver sustained revenue growth while navigating complex business environments.
  • Proficiency in English, Microsoft Office, Salesforce CRM, and related business technologies to support effective sales leadership, reporting, forecasting, and customer relationship management.

This role's pay range is between: $152,000/yr - $171,000/yr. This role is also commission eligible.
