Summer Student – Engineering Support Technician
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Engineering Support Technician to support our Engineering and Operations teams. This role will provide hands-on technical support for product launches, continuous improvement projects, process changes, training activities, documentation, and production-related troubleshooting. The person in this role will work closely with Engineering, Operations, Training, Maintenance, Manufacturing Support, and other cross-functional teams to help resolve process and product-related issues in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Support the Engineering team with continuous improvement projects, product launches, and process updates
• Assist with creating and organizing documents, work instructions, and training materials
• Help investigate basic process, product, or technical support issues
• Support employee training, facility tours, and orientation activities as needed
• Assist with basic computer troubleshooting, production equipment support, and documentation updates
• Support additional Engineering, Operations, and Manufacturing projects as assigned
More About You:
• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a college program in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, Manufacturing, or a related field
• Strong interest in engineering support, technical troubleshooting, manufacturing, or continuous improvement
• Organized, detail-oriented, and willing to learn
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office and basic computer systems
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently while also supporting a team environment
• Professional working proficiency in English required
• Previous experience with SAP, hardware/software troubleshooting, or manufacturing is an asset, but not required
A minimum of 200Mb/sec download and 10Mb/sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote/hybrid employee functionality at Sonova
