Senior Manager Data Governance Program

As the Senior Manager, Data Governance Program, you run the data governance program; facilitate data governance steering committees; deliver data governance process training; recruit and coordinate the activities of data owners and data stewards; and coordinate the process of defining, managing, and monitoring key data assets.

This position provides both strategic leadership and tactical oversight with respect to implementing data governance strategies across the enterprise.

 

In this role, you will be in charge of:

 

  • Develops data governance vision, and builds, communicates, and operationalizes associated processes, including, but not limited to issue identification, prioritization, and tracking, metadata management, and report certification.
  • Evaluates and recommends standards, policies, processes and objectives for data governance across
  • Facilitates the implementation of changes required to bring data processes into compliance with enterprise data governance program policies and objectives.
  • Identify and setup data catalog and data dictionary tools and evolve the capability over time
  • Work with vendors to identify and test data governance tools to automate data governance with time
  • Collaborate with business and data & analytics teams to uncover ongoing data opportunities
  • Design data governance framework and processes to make it easy to find, access and understand data and solve for data quality issues
  • Partner with business and IT leaders to define and identify data owners and data stewards for key data sources
  • Mentor and upskill data and analytics teams on data governance
  • Effectively partners with other business units-departments to promote data awareness in the corporate culture and to encourage and provide input into the development of enterprise data governance projects. Coordinates data initiatives that increase the probability of strategic directives and business objectives being met.
  • Identifies data collection and management processes that present increased enterprise risk levels and inefficient execution of work and proposes alternatives and recommendations for solutions.
  • Provides input to overall data architecture to minimize fragmentation of data.

 

Your background:

 

  • 5+ years of experience working with data and managing large-scale data governances 
  • Deep understanding of data governance best practices, tools, processes and roles
  • Ability to partner with IT and business to drive data governance across the organization
  • Passion for data and how to make it easy to find, understand, and use it
  • Attention to detail and ability to find data quality issues
  • Fluency in English, other languages are considered as a plus
