Position Summary
Reporting to the VP, Finance Retail North America, The Director of Finance serves as a strategic and operational finance leader within Sonova’s Retail US organization, overseeing financial activities for a designated legal entity. This role combines strong functional leadership, business partnership, and financial governance to drive performance, ensure compliance, and support business growth. The position acts as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing actionable insights and guiding financial decision-making.

Dallas, TX

Salary: $200,000-$210,000 


Your role at Sonova:

You will be responsible for overseeing financial planning, reporting, and compliance, while ensuring strong governance, effective controls, and alignment with global standards. In addition, you will play a key role in building and developing a high-performing finance team and fostering cross-functional collaboration to support sustainable growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Functional Leadership

  • Lead and manage local finance teams for a designated legal entity within the Retail US organization.
  • Develop, mentor, and inspire direct reports, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Establish and maintain robust financial governance, processes, controls, and risk management practices aligned with corporate and Retail US policies.

Business Partnership

  • Serve as a key finance business partner to the seller of the legal entity, VP Retail Integration North America and the Managing Director of Retail North America
  • Provide financial perspective on business strategy, planning, and execution.
  • Deliver timely, in-depth analysis and actionable insights on business performance through comprehensive management reporting.
  • Oversee financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and target setting in collaboration with business leaders and the VP of Finance & Controlling.
  • Coordinate and ensure accurate, complete, and timely submission of actuals, forecasts, and budgets in alignment with North America Finance leadership.

 

 

 

Financial Governance & Compliance

  • Act as the primary finance liaison for the legal entity, coordinating with global and regional functions including finance, tax, legal, and human resources.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements, including consistency and accuracy in reporting.
  • Oversee monthly financial reviews, follow-ups, and implementation of best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to Sonova accounting policies, systems, and controls.
  • Monitor audit findings and lead remediation efforts.
  • Manage and support rollout of Retail US and Group-wide initiatives, including system implementations and process improvements.
  • Provide financial review, contractual analysis, and decision support, including finance sign-off for key agreements and investments in line with Delegation of Authority (DOA).
  • Represent finance in compliance-related matters and act as a liaison across the organization.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of progressive finance experience.
  • Strong financial analysis and business acumen.
  • Experience with IFRS reporting standards.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial systems (e.g., SAP BW/BI, Cognos).

Preferred

  • CPA and/or MBA.
  • Experience in healthcare, manufacturing, or multinational environments.
  • Exposure to Lean Management methodologies (e.g., Kaizen workshops).
