Senior Manager, Facilities
Lead the Facilities department, provide technical supervision of staff and vendors, and manage all facilities programs for Advanced Bionics in Valencia, CA. Ensure timely and effective maintenance, repair and service of all building infrastructure, equipment and systems. Develop and implement strategies for efficiency and improvements of facilities, equipment investment and maintenance, and related systems.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute facilities strategies aligned with operational objectives across Quality, Manufacturing, Metrology/Engineering, and other functional areas while supporting leadership through facilities research, studies, financial analysis, reporting, and infrastructure improvement initiatives.
- Manage preventative maintenance programs, Building Management Systems, and continuous monitoring of Controlled Environmental Areas (CEA) to ensure optimal equipment performance, environmental controls, and program compliance through ongoing evaluation and improvements.
- Oversee facility utilities and environmental operations, including purified water systems, hazardous and non-hazardous material storage, waste management, effluents, emissions, and regulatory compliance with all applicable state and federal requirements.
- Plan and coordinate facility and CEA shutdowns, HVAC and equipment preventive maintenance, repairs, modifications, renovations, new equipment installations, and infrastructure improvement projects, including business cases, project plans, permitting, resource allocation, and execution oversight.
- Manage daily facilities operations and administration, including work orders, maintenance and repair activities, janitorial and pest control programs, floor layouts, inventory and supply management, recordkeeping, security systems, and access control administration.
- Partner closely with EMS/EHS leadership and external vendors to support safety programs, sustainability initiatives, emergency action plans, vendor selection, contract negotiations, and compliance with Quality, Purchasing, OSHA, FDA/TUV Quality System Regulations, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, and other internal and external standards.
- Coordinate business continuity planning and landlord/property management activities while assisting with annual Facilities department budgeting, monthly expense monitoring, reporting, and other assigned operational responsibilities.
More about you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Science, or a related discipline preferred; four (4) years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree, with 10+ years of facilities maintenance experience including 3+ years in a managerial role, preferably within biotech, pharmaceutical, or medical device Controlled Environmental Areas (CEAs).
- Customer-oriented and self-motivated professional with strong organizational, decision-making, communication, and influencing skills, capable of working effectively in dynamic environments and collaborating with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management capabilities, including the ability to interpret architectural and utility system drawings, scientific and technical documentation, legal reports, building codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements; Lean or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
- Fluent in English with the ability to effectively manage daily communications and deliver presentations across all organizational levels; Spanish language skills are preferred.
- Strong technical proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), spreadsheets, word processing applications, and other facility-related software tools.
A minimum of 200Mb/sec download and 10Mb/sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote/hybrid employee functionality at Sonova

This role's pay range is between: $131,560/yr - $197,340/yr. This role is also bonus eligible.
