Technician II, Systems Test

 

The Professional Test and Verification Engineering performs moderately complex assignments of the engineering test and verification function for hearing systems

As part of the system test team, the technician will take an essential role of integrating a feature-rich firmware onto the multi-core hardware of the next generation of cochlear implant system. The technician will perform tests that evaluate the performance, the safety, the connectivity, and the robustness characteristics of the design in close cooperation with engineer team members

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Execute tests that verify the signal processing and data acquisition algorithms that are used to support testing of the speech processor strategies on the cochlear implant.  
  • Execute test software associated with next generation systems and provide the results of tests to the Systems Test Engineers.
  • Provide detailed reports of the results of the executed test.
  • During practice test runs, provide feedback for tests that need adjustments to setup.
  • Manage the collection and return of all calibrated test equipment used in the department.
  • Order necessary equipment required for department use.

 

More about you:

  • Associate degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with 2+ years of experience in test execution and test setup/tear down; familiarity with LabView, TestStand, and .NET/C# is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMM), signal analyzers, power supplies, and other electronic test equipment, with preferred experience in programming languages and tools such as Python, MATLAB, and LabVIEW for medical device testing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and contribute to troubleshooting complex test system issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems outside of primary technical expertise while maintaining a strong commitment to product safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong technical aptitude with hands-on troubleshooting capabilities involving electrical circuits, test systems, and related engineering environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to effectively document, analyze, and communicate technical information.
  • Fluent in English with the ability to work effectively in technical and collaborative environments requiring strong communication and analytical skills.

 

 

A minimum of 200Mb/sec download and 10Mb/sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote/hybrid employee functionality at Sonova

This role's pay range is between: $64,800/yr - $97,200/yr. This role is also bonus eligible.
