Director Finance Market NL

For our Finance team, located in the Netherlands, we are looking for a Finance Director for 40 hours per week.

The Finance Director leads the Finance team for all business channels in the Netherlands and acts as lead business partner to the Dutch Market Leaders, identifying growth drivers and supporting their execution in the context of market dynamics and competitive environment, while driving cross-channel efficiency, harmonization, and cost synergies.

 

The Finance Director builds a high-performing Finance organization and combines strong business partnership with independent financial authority, ensuring both effective day-to-day financial management and the ongoing evolution of the Finance function.

 

Tasks and responsibilities

 

Market Finance Leadership

  • Lead the Finance function across the Dutch market, ensuring one aligned structure, voice, and financial narrative
  • Act as the key Finance partner to Cluster, Region, Group, and local leadership
  • Ensure strong governance, controls, and adherence to Group policies

 

Finance Operating Model, Efficiency & Synergies

  • Drive efficiency, synergies, and simplification across channels
  • Implement the Finance Target Operating Model and optimize processes, systems, and ways of working
  • Lead automation, shared services, outsourcing, and other transformation initiatives

 

Strategic Business Partnering & Performance

  • Partner with senior business leaders to drive performance and value creation
  • Provide financial insights to support strategic and commercial decision-making
  • Drive transparency, forecasting, performance management, and cross-channel alignment

 

Governance, Compliance & Control

  • Oversee statutory reporting, compliance, internal controls, audit, and risk management
  • Ensure high-quality financial data, KPIs, systems, and performance measurement
  • Coordinate effectively with Group functions and shared services

 

Planning, Forecasting & Reporting

  • Lead target setting, budgeting, forecasting, CAPEX planning, and performance reporting
  • Ensure consistent, accurate, and timely financial information and analysis

 

Business Development & M&A

  • Provide Finance leadership for M&A, acquisitions, greenfield initiatives, and other strategic investments
  • Translate business strategy into robust financial plans and execution

 

Finance Organization & Talent

  • Build and lead a high-performing, unified Finance organization
  • Define the organization, capabilities, and talent agenda for the market
  • Foster collaboration, accountability, engagement, and a performance-driven culture

 

Your profile  

  • 10+ years of senior Finance leadership experience, ideally as a Market CFO or Finance Director
  • Strong expertise in financial management, performance management, reporting, governance, and controlling
  • Proven experience leading complex, multi-entity or multi-channel Finance organizations in matrix environments
  • Track record in Finance transformation, operating model design, standardization, simplification, and efficiency improvement
  • Strong strategic and analytical mindset, with the ability to translate insights into action and drive execution
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, align across functions, and navigate complex stakeholder environments
  • Strong people leadership skills, with experience building high-performing teams and fostering accountability and collaboration
  • High integrity, strong ownership, and a pragmatic, results-oriented approach
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end Finance processes, Finance Target Operating Models, systems, and data environments
  • Fluent in English and Dutch
