Software Engineer - C#

This is your opportunity to work in a scaled agile environment within international teams developing high-tech solutions for the medical hearing health care sector. You will be responsible for the development of tools for building, testing, and releasing firmware for our products. 

 

More about the role

In this role, you will be part of our R&D team, and you will be responsible for building an application used by audiologists to adjust the software installed on our new line of hearing aids.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software components and features for Sonova's .NET desktop applications and fitting software platform.  
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers and verification engineers to refine requirements and transform them into effective software solutions. 
  • Develop intuitive user interfaces using C#, .NET, WPF, and XAML, including prototyping new concepts and workflows.  
  • Ensure high software quality through clean code practices, code reviews, automated testing, and adherence to architectural guidelines.  
  • Perform root cause analysis, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to maintaining a reliable and sustainable software platform.  
  • Share knowledge, support onboarding activities, and contribute to engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives. 

 

More about you

Essential qualifications: 

  • University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline. 
  • 5+ years of professional software development in C# with experience .NET, XAML-based, MVVM capable UI frameworks like Avalonia, Maui, WPF 
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented analysis and design, software architecture, design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean code practices.  
  • Track record of owning features from idea through release and maintenance. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for delivering high-quality software.  
  • Fluent English and confidence communicating in international, distributed teams. 

Good to have qualifications:

  • Experience in regulated environments, ideally medical devices software. 
  • An interest in audiology or healthcare technology. 
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, ideally in Azure DevOps.
