Purpose of the Job

The Product Manager ensures Phonak has a highly appealing, commercially successful, and operationally executable product offering for the assigned product scope. The role manages the product workstream across the full lifecycle, contributes to the product launches within the responsible category, and ensures strong cross-functional execution from concept to post-launch optimization.

 

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Develop the 4Ps for assigned products across concepts, launch preparation, in-market management, and lifecycle support.
  • Lead product definition, product vision, use-case refinement, feature prioritization, and value proposition development in partnership with R&D, UX, and category leadership.
  • Contribute within launches and ensure timely delivery of successful value propositions across multiple product domains, accessories, and supporting deliverables.
  • Translate customer needs, unmet needs, technical trends, benchmarks, and competitor insights into product requirements and product improvements.
  • Trigger or support feasibility studies, market trials, field tests, and technology projects to improve product-market fit and launch quality.
  • Ensure regulatory and launch-readiness compliance of products, packaging, documentation, and other required deliverables.
  • Steer product KPIs including adoption, quality, market feedback, margin implications, and product performance, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support lifecycle activities such as engineering changes, complexity reduction, phase-in and phase-out planning, and post-launch improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with Audiological and Clinical Excellence team to deliver meaning clinical evidence

Key accountabilities

  • Commercial and customer success of assigned products.
  • Quality of product definition, proposition, launch readiness, and post-launch improvement actions.
  • Cross-functional execution across R&D, regulatory, quality, operations, MarCom, and regional teams.
  • Lifecycle performance, including product quality, change control support, and phase-in or phase-out execution.

 

Requirements

  • University degree in audiology, engineering, business, or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience in product management, launch management, or lifecycle management in medical, healthcare, or technical products.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional work, solve ambiguous problems, and deliver in a matrix organization.
  • 4 - 6 years’ experience in global Product Management with focus on product development
  • Experience in healthcare or medical industry is an asset
  • Running complex projects on global scale
  • Focusing on customer experience to define valuable hardware and accessories
  • Combination of strong technical background and business acumen
  • Able to manage different stakeholder expectations
  • Visionary
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and management skills
